Each member of the Gabriel Network Team is here to serve both women in need and our volunteers.  We are committed to continual improvement and to building a learning culture of affirmation, accountability, and mutual support.

  • Stephen wallace - executive director

    Stephen has been called to this ministry to serve the unborn and provide a place for healing broken hearts.  

    Stephen joined Gabriel Network in September 2014 after an active legal practice with Drinker, Biddle & Reath in Washington, D.C. Stephen graduated magna cum laude from Notre Dame Law School and summa cum laude from Franciscan University of Steubenville, and clerked for Chief Judge Alice M. Batchelder of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. He earned his Executive Certificate in Transformational Nonprofit Leadership from the Notre Dame Mendoza School of Business in 2014.  Stephen joined the National Maternity Housing Coalition's Leadership Council in 2017, and was elected President of the Council in 2018.

    Stephen, his wife Meta, and their children Laura, Joseph, Francis and Sally live in Laurel, Maryland and are members of St. Mary of the Mills parish. Stephen enjoys college football, crossfit workouts, salmon ladders, sportsing, and community life.

  • Tiffany Farley - Executive Assistant

    Tiffany has been serving at Gabriel Network since 2011.  Prior to joining our team she was the High School Youth Minister at St. Pius X Church in Bowie, MD.  Tiffany excels at creating a welcoming and energetic office and recruiting new volunteers to join our ministry.  She truly has a servant's heart.  


    She and her husband Brendan have four children, Gavin, Kyra, Johnny, and Michael. Tiffany enjoys spending time with her family, playing tennis, reading, and winning whatever office competition is going on.

  • Sophia tyson - Bowie Home Director

    Sophia is a graduate of Lancaster Bible College, earning a bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies with a concentration in Psychology and Counseling. She currently attends Capital Seminary and Graduate School where she is pursuing her master’s degree in Christian Care plus Divinity. Sophia has served the community as a volunteer counselor with the Bowie Crofton Pregnancy Clinic, a post-abortion stress Bible study leader, and a mentor at the Woodland Job Corps Center, in Laurel, MD, where she strove to encourage young women to avoid the trap of mediocrity and pursue excellence. In 2014, she started a discipleship ministry designed to support women married for one year or less find strength and hope through community care. 

  • Michelle Burgess - Ellicott City House Director

    Michelle began serving at The Gabriel Network in 2012 as a Home Director Sub.  She later transitioned into the position as the Ellicott City Home Director in 2013. Through her experience as a client mom and sub she developed a genuine sense of compassion and love for the ministry. 

    Prior to joining The Gabriel Network Team Michelle served as a Marketing Executive and Fund Raiser for The S.W.B. Lupus Awareness Charity until 2006. In addition to community outreach Michelle has a background in Hotel Restaurant Management, Property Consulting, Independent Marketing and Sales, Early Childhood Education and Healthcare.

    Michelle enjoys spending quality time with her daughter. Michelle and her daughter participate in community outreach programs to feed the homeless. Michelle has natural passion for helping others. In addition to serving as Home Director she works as a Caregiver and Independent Property Consultant. Michelle is currently pursuing a degree in Human Services in hopes to one day own and operate a community outreach center for cultural diversity and development. 

  • Aletheia elliott - Case Manager

    Aletheia is a graduate of Capital Bible Seminary with an M.A. in Christian Counseling and Discipleship and a concentration in Youth and Family Counseling. She co-founded a counseling ministry and volunteers as a counselor at the Bowie/Crofton Pregnancy Clinic. Aletheia's professional experience includes counseling/caregiving, office, and business management, project management, marketing, teaching, and entrepreneurship. She has overseen and supervised Master’s level counseling internships and practicums as well as been a guest where she facilitated and presented in Master’s level counseling classes at her alma mater. She has a love and passion for serving, specifically young women/adults. 

    Aletheia serves in the music and children’s ministries at Grace Bible Church where she and her family attend. She lives in Bowie, Maryland with her husband Nathaniel, their sons Brighton and Rhett and their fantastic dog Zero. She enjoys reading, music, cooking, the outdoors and quality time with family and friends.

    Mary retired from the Maryland Department of Juvenile Services in 2011 after 30 years of service as a juvenile probation officer. Mary has been an Angel Friend since 2012 and the Gabriel Network Church Coordinator at Sacred Heart Church, Bowie, MD, since the fall of 2014.


    Mary lives in Bowie with her husband, Mark, and their daughter, Audrey. She enjoys reading, the beach, exercise and Zumba, and of course, serving and sharing God’s love with those less fortunate. Mary says, “I am very excited to be a part of this dynamic church ministry team and I look forward to all the good things God has planned for this ministry!”

  • Laura BEST - Church Outreach coordinator

    Laura learned about Gabriel Network at a young age, when her family hosted several young women in her home and she gave up her room to make space for their guests. She is compassionate for the unborn and loves helping others. She is enthusiastic in sharing this passion with churches all over Maryland and DC. Laura graduated from Anne Arundel Community College with a degree in Interior Design. 

    In addition to her role on the Church Team, she now enjoys using her background in design through planning Gabriel Network events and various other work projects. Laura lives in Bowie with her husband Jack and son Lucas. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends and staying active through running outdoors, at the gym, and carrying her baby around all day.

  • Nora Jean - Team Member

    Nora studied Business at Loyola University Maryland, Sellinger Business School; during her time at Loyola she specialized in Marketing. She is a Maryland native and has three siblings. Nora enjoys reading and listening to music. 

    On her way back from a silent retreat, Nora saw one of our Gabriel Network Church Signs and the rest is history. Soon after seeing the Gabriel Sign Nora started to volunteer with us. She was very well liked by the staff and was asked to cover a team member's maternity leave. She did so well we had to keep her!

  • Sarah Portner - Helpline Representative

    Sarah is thrilled to have joined the Gabriel Network team in March 2019 in pursuit of her certain call to journey with women and babies in witness to Love. 

    Anchored in faith, Sarah studied Social Work and Communications at the Catholic University of America.  Completing BSW and MSW degrees at the National Catholic School of Social Service has grounded Sarah in theory and practice. Sarah’s experience in Pregnancy Center, Maternity Home, Adoption Agency, Student Ministry, and K-12 Student Support settings has prepared her to give and to grow at Gabriel Network.

    Sarah and her husband Greg are deeply grateful to be a part of the Sacred Heart Church community in Bowie, MD. Sarah enjoys spending quality time with those she loves, pursuing her passion for holistic health, keeping the old tradition of snail mail alive, baking without measuring ingredients exactly, and seeing her favorite music performed live.

  • Lindsey Fedyk

    Lindsey received a Masters in Social Work from Catholic University, hoping to use her degree to journey with women and their babies. She is thrilled to work as Lead Trainer and share her experience and passion for serving families with Gabriel Network’s Angel Friends.  Before joining Gabriel Network, Lindsey worked in a pregnancy center and worked as the live-in staff at a Maternity Home which provided unique insight to working with families.  

    Lindsey, her husband Nicholas, and their twin boys Simon and Lukas live in Cheverly, Maryland. They are members of St. Jerome’s parish and Holy Family Ukrainian Catholic Church. Lindsey enjoys staying active with her family by exploring parks, re-reading favorite novels, discovering new coffee shops, and enjoying sports, food, and music from her hometown New Orleans. 

  • Valinda Wynn

    Valinda comes to the Gabriel Network with 20 years of experience in Early Childhood Education. She began her career, in that field, as a Teacher’s Aide. Because she showed the aptitude for leadership, Valinda advanced to Lead Teacher. Then, finally into management, as Center Director, once she matriculated through college with her degree. Her last Director position was at a childcare center in Upper Marlboro, MD which served toddler through school aged children. 

    She has been faithfully ministering to young women experiencing personal crisis, in her home area of DC, for over 30 years. Happily fulfilling the “Great Commission” by providing them with food, shelter, clothing, and godly counsel. Valinda is also a Wellness Advocate, who encourages and educates individuals to live healthier lifestyles to obtain and sustain a high quality of life.
