What are Church-Based Angel Friend Teams?  How do they help?

Gabriel Network began over twenty years ago as a grassroots network of churches that formed volunteer groups to help women in crisis pregnancies.  While we have expanded our services over the years, these volunteer teams remain the heart of Gabriel Network.

Church-Based Volunteer Teams, or "Angel Friend" Teams, are ready and willing to help a pregnant woman with the material, emotional, and spiritual challenges that come with a crisis pregnancy.  Animated by their love for Christ, they are ready to demonstrate that love in works for those in need.  These churches are spread across Maryland and in DC.

To be matched with an Angel Friend Team near you, call our help line at 800-ANGEL-OK!

what are maternity homes?

How do I apply?

Gabriel Network's Maternity Homes offer rent-free community housing for women who are pregnant and in need of a safe, stable place to live and bring their unborn children into the world. Mothers staying in our maternity homes live in community with others in similar circumstances, with expectations that they will conduct themselves in harmony with community life and will embrace the programming opportunities found there.

To apply, please call 800-ANGEL-OK to find out the dates of the next application window. The application window is a time when mothers interested in joining one of our homes may apply to do so. Pregnant women with no debilitating mental problems or drug habits and no other children in their current custody are eligible to apply.

What Programming and Community resources are offered in your Homes?

If a pregnant women is invited to stay in one of our Maternity Homes, she will be expected to participate in the programming offered through the home. These opportunities include group devotional time, individual life coaching, assistance with setting up social services, and classes offered either by Gabriel Network staff or trusted partners.  These classes may include how to take care of a young child, basic finances, adoption information, conflict and stress management, and others. Gabriel Network staff will also help with planning for the next step in housing for her and her child.

She will also participate in choosing and reinforcing the shared culture and commitments of the home. Mothers in our homes collaborate with each other and staff to decide on home rules, expectations, and commitments. Building the culture of the home helps our moms to experience how to build a healthy home life for themselves and their child when they move out on their own.

Need something for your baby?

Babies are wonderful gifts from the Lord, but they do require some special equipment. Diapers, wipes, formula, high chairs, pack 'n plays, children and maternity clothes, etc.!  If you need things for your baby, give us a call at 800-ANGEL-OK!

We have three ways of helping mothers and families get the things they need.  First, we match mothers in need with churches in their area that have Angel Friend Teams that can help.  Second, we refer to local pregnancy centers that specialize in providing these resources.  Third, our office in Crofton maintains a small supply of basic needs.  Call us today and let's see what we can do together.

If you would like to request a particular item, please click here or call us today.

prayer requests

"For nothing will be impossible with God."  (Luke 1:36)

As the Angel Gabriel spoke to the mother of our Savior, so we believe today.  If you have a prayer request, please use this form or call us at 800-ANGEL-OK (800-264-3565) to share it with us.

We pray every day at noon for the moms in our program, for the staff and volunteers who work directly with those moms, and all of our supporters. We welcome your prayer requests and will gladly pray for your intentions during that time.
